To whom it may concern,
I was born into a middle class family in O in OOOO. Being an only child, my parents wholeheartedly devoted their attention and love to me to make me feel secure. They believe that education does not always have to take place in a classroom, so we traveled domestically and abroad, and it was on these trips that my horizons were broadened and I gained much inspiration. This is when I first realized that people come in all shapes and sizes, and that you should be respectful if you wish to be respected.
Of all the subjects in school, English was my favorite, although I never “studied” it. I saw it as a tool, a tool that unfolds the world in front of me, thus I was delighted whenever there was a chance to use it. This mindset has helped me achieve many things through my life. Scoring OOO points on my TOEIC exam, for example, was an example of my hard work paying off.
At university, I worked part-time in a O-O restaurant. As one of the only places to offer food of its kind in O, and perhaps Taiwan, the customers were predominantly foreigners. I took this job as an opportunity to observe how business works, and how to build customer incentives by devising different marketing strategies. I also learned to establish customer relationships, as the foreign customers I dealt with were more interactive than most of the locals.
Having gained rudimentary marketing experiences, I decided to take a step up and signed up for the Marketing and Planning Specialist training course at the O O O O. Not only did I receive a clearer understanding of the basics, I also got to see how they are put into practice in case study sessions. For the certification exam, I gave a presentation on developing a series of marketing campaigns for the O-O restaurant I used to work for.
I had my first setback after graduating from university. Entering one of the Big Four accounting firms upon graduation seems like a no-brainer, because that is where everyone goes. However, I failed to ask myself one often-ignored yet crucial question: Where do “I” want to go? I was neither aware that I was not meant to be an accountant, nor did I find comfort working there.
When I learned of an opening on the OOOO O O O O Committee, I thought it was a great opportunity to combine my interest in international affairs, sports and English with work. I learned the importance of having an eye for details when negotiating with O O O O officials. I was also assigned to present O's progress report at an international meeting. These experiences equipped me with in-depth point of view and strengthened my communication skills.
I consider myself a balanced, easy-going person. I would rather use my logic than my fists to avoid confrontation or to deal with obstacles. I can say with confidence that I have the ability to work under immense pressure without compromising the results. When I am presented something I am not familiar with, I quickly extinguish my ignorance with diligence and passion. I enjoy working with different people as much as with myself alone, and believe there is nothing more satisfying than achieving a common goal with a team of talents.
I believe I have what it takes to work in an industry that requires communication skills, creative thinking, adaptability and ambition. I am well-prepared; all I need now is a chance to prove it.
Yours Sincerely,
NAME
